INTIMATE WITH WALE GATES

Comedian, Event host , Dad , Husband - Wale Gates has been in the game for a while now. and has been consistent and very blunt with his views on political as well as social issues affecting africa and the world.

You can either love him or hate him or be in between, he is going to air his views no matter what.

I had the opportunity to interview him for his fans to get to know more of him.

You can melt butter on those abs!!

1.         Sir, Do you see yourself as a Sex symbol?

Wale Gates: Sex Symbol? Hell No! I'm just an ordinary married guy. My dream of being a sex symbol probably died 6yrs ago when I got married.

2.       What gave you the motivation to work out and taunt girls and guys across continents with your abs?

Wale Gates:  Firstly i started to workout cos I was overweight and I was going through a stressful time in my head. The gym was like a therapist's chair for me. Now its developed into a lifestyle and it's great to chat with people across. About the taunting of girls and guys, well it's their choice to feel taunted I would honestly prefer if people felt motivated than taunted.

3.       How did you meet your lovely wife?

Wale Gates: I met my wife in Unilag in 2003, I went to one of the female halls of residence to see a friend who was her roommate. I told my friend "tell your roommate she's fine and I like her" She replied "Wale! Leave her alone. You're trouble and she's a good girl she doesn't need trouble". long story Short She told her what I said and by January 2004 we started seeing each other I was in my Final year, She was in year 2.

4.        You were born in UK, but which state are you from in Nigeria?

Wale Gates: I was born in East London, but I'm from Ogun State in a town called Ogere I have been there only once.

5.       Whats political appointment in your state can you be offered to make you relocate?

Wale Gates: None.

6.       Which areas will you concentrate on to improve the lives of the people in that state?

Wale Gates:  Education, free quality education. Remember the time when rich and poor kids went to the same schools cos the schools and teachers were very good. Yes! Bring back those days cos I believe Education gives the Poor farmer's son hope that if he does well in School he can one day sit on the same table with a rich man's son.

7.        What prayers do you have for Nigeria?

Wale Gates: The Prayer I have for Nigeria is that we stop praying. We have been praying for too long and working less. If prayer was all you need Prayer Warriors in churches would be the richest people in the church or earth but they're not. I'm not saying don't pray at all but you can be praying while you are working. Great nations aren't built on prayer they are built on hard work.

8.       If you are to choose, who would you vote for amongst these 3 as the next president of the country? former Vp Atiku, Vp Tambuwal or President Jonathan?

Wale Gates: None of these men would bring out the change we need. They're one and the same.

9.       Sir, On a lighter note, do you role play with your lovely wife in the bedroom?

Wale Gates: Role Play like her the Sexy Police lady and me the Perv prisoner? Nope we just stick to Mummy and daddy.

10.      Can you tell us when your next event is and how to contact you for their events as well as future projects.

Wale Gates: Well Thanks to God 2014 has been a great year, for 2015 my aim is to expand my Wedding MC brand properly across Europe, Just Joking with Wale Gates 2015 my man comedy show and hopefully back on the LWKMD North America comedy tour.

Thanks for your time.

GOVERNOR KAYODE FAYEMI, RECLAIMING THE TRUST!!!

For those who do not know Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State in Nigeria, he is the last child in a family of six with a long tradition of public service. His father, the late Chief Francis Falade Fayemi retired from the Ondo state Civil Service in 1977 having served in the Western Region, Western State and Ondo State respectively for over twenty-five years. In retirement, he later served as Councilor and Chairman of the old Ekiti North Local Government between 1977 and 1979, and subsequently, President, Customary Court covering parts of the Oye Division of old Ekiti North Local government. A justice of the Peace and Baba Egbe of the St. Martins Catholic Church, Isan Ekiti, Chief Fayemi was a well-known community leader and believer that the only life worth leaving is a life of service to the community. His son follows in this well trodden path.

The Ekitis, whose ancestors migrate from Ile-Ife as a people, form one of the largest ethnic groups in Yoruba land. Ekitis are culturally homogeneous and they speak a dialect of Yoruba language known as Ekiti. The homogeneous nature of Ekiti confers on the state some uniqueness among the states of the federation. Slight differences are noticeable in the Ekiti dialect of the Yoruba language spoken by the people. This is informed and influenced by their spatial locations, especially the border communities to other states.

Speaking on achievements so far, Governor Fayemi in his words stated that projects executed were projects submitted by the communities and not government projects. ''They are not really gigantic projects, what we did was to take the presidents and secretaries of the town unions to a workshop. They would bring their projects. They would also bring their plans and the costs. We will then send people from our Ministry of Rural Development to assess and evaluate projects and we then give them money in phases. 50 per cent to start, then 30 per cent and 20 per cent subsequently''.

In addition, he states that '' the evidence before us indicates that in virtually all the communities where we have projects, it is almost 80 per cent completion, and they have been completed on time and cost''.

Furthermore, Fayemi has been noted to have said frankly that -  '' at the risk of sounding immodest, there was nothing I met that I didn’t expect. People may have forgotten but when the government in place then read the budget, we published an alternate budget in the newspapers for three consecutive years. We had a 100-day plan to a 24-month plan. Everything we have done in the last three years we campaigned about in 2006.".

On his one-time political associate-Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, Fayemi says and i quote ''Opeyemi is my friend. He will remain my friend for as long as I live. I consider him more than a friend. I consider him a brother and that is why he could do all of what he is doing without my batting an eyelid. But I also said to you, in times past, that there is nothing wrong in having an ambition, it is legitimate.

Recently, the Governor was endorsed and scored very high by the Pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, the Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG) in the area of execution of policies that have improved the standard of living of the people of the state.

I visited ekiti late last year and also touched over 2 local government areas. I must say the town is a very peaceful town with warm, hardworking, intelligent and dedicated people. However, i feel Governor Fayemi should give one hundred percent dedication to accessible housing and Industrial Development just like he is doing to other sectors. There are very few industries in the state and the major changes to mention a few are the road networks and on-going pavilion.

In my opinion, this coming election is going to be a tight run for Fayemi, former ekiti state governor - Ayodele Fayose and Hon. Ope Bamidele.

Ekiti decides on June 21, 2014 God willing.

ENERGY DRINKS

The ENERGY DRINK industry has spread like wildfire, which means energy drinks and the highs they offer are available to pretty much everyone regardless of their dangers and side effects. It’s not like you have to be of legal age to buy a bottle, like you do with cigarettes, alcohol or even lottery tickets. Even kids are getting their hands on them.

There’s a slight element of danger in energy drinks that makes them a bit intriguing as well. After all, they contain controversial ingredients – namely guarana, taurine, caffeine, Cyanocobalamin, citric acid and ginseng. Even though these are basically harmless when taken in low dosages, studies have shown that these ingredients can do major damage to people who don’t know how to spell moderation. This means too many people are consuming energy drinks in excess, for the wrong reasons.

On top of that, our society is one of excess. This has many believing that if one energy drink can give them a good buzz, then drinking one after the other would be an ideal way to sustain a buzz all evening. This might make sense when you’re fuelled by a caffeine high, however even the manufacturers themselves warn against drinking more than two energy drinks a day. Unfortunately the dangerous mix of energy and alcohol will often leave you with no idea of how many drinks you’ve consumed. By then it’s a bit late for manufacturers’ warnings.

Always find out the particular ingredients in your preferred drink and read its nutritional label.

However, some ENERGY DRINKS have helpful ingredients and they’ve been used to promote health in the past.

Not to bore you, let's take Guarana and Taurine:-

Guarana – At first look, most modern day health professionals excuse guarana as just a natural equivalent to caffeine, however this plant has been traditionally used to treat diarrhea and to prevent blood clots. Still, our ancestors also used guarana much in the same way we do today – to promote physical endurance, overcome exhaustion, increase mental acuity and long-term memory, to combat premature aging, increase sexual libido and, of course, as an energy tonic.

Taurine – One of the most abundant acidic chemicals in the human body is found in the central nervous system and skeletal tissues, but it’s very concentrated in the brain and heart. Taurine is basically a substance that helps to regulate heartbeat, maintain cell membrane stability and prevent brain cell overactivity. It is often used to treat anxiety, hyperactivity, hypoglycemia, epilepsy, hypertension and seizures. It may also help lower blood pressure. The levels of taurine in a normal child’s brain are four times higher than that in adult brains. This is why many people believe that taurine supplementation for adults may help to boost brain function and creativity.

Which of the numerous ENERGY DRINKS do you take?

GOING GREEN IN A DEVELOPING COUNTRY

Going green doesnt mean you have to stop showering, stop shaving, sell your car, read by candlelight and chain yourself to a tree to protest logging.
To me, it means trying in one way or the other to save our planet.
One 'goes green ' by educating oneself and making small changes everyday. It sounds simple but its quite challenging.
Although some of us have been living a bit 'green ' and we dont know it. From keeping shopping bags to re using that fancy bag , we have all contributed a bit to saving mother earth.
Do you know that there are mini solar panels sold in Nigeria that can give you hot or cold water at home or offices? Yes there are.
The following are some of the ways to 'go green:
- Recycle, re-use  paper bags/shopping bags
- Keep electronics out of trash.Donate or recycle them.
- Wear clothes that do not need to be drycleaned. It saves money and cut down on toxic chemical use.
-  Invest in high quality , longlasting products. You might pay more now, but you;ll be happy when you dont have to replace items as frequently. This means less waste
-. Use the recycle bins placed at designated spots to drop bottles.
- Take short showers or with someone. It saves water.
- Use Drying racks or clothesline.
-  If you are going to use washing machine or dishwasher, make sure its full before  running. This will help to save water.
- Turn off lights when leaving a room.
-.Unplug appliances when not in use.
-Used water satchets can be dumped at designated spots or traded at paper making  factories. This will help save a tree and the environment.
-. Lobby your local government to increase spending on sidewalks & bike lanes. This will help you save fuel while you walk or take a bike to work.
You may not be able to replenish the earth on your own but small things like the above and more counts. Spread the word!.

WINDOWS 8

Microsoft. The software pioneer has ceded a lot of ground since the halcyon '90s when it was synonymous with personal computing.
Over the last decade, an insurgent Google and reborn Apple have wrested the spotlight from the ubiquitous giant, establishing themselves as must-watch hotbeds of agenda-setting innovation.
But despite its current reputation for spending more time behind the curve than in front of it, the house Bill Gates built has never truly had an ideas problem.
The Redmond, Washington-based company and its Research division have always attracted first-rate engineering and creative talent from around the world. windows.microsoft.com
Some will say ,Microsoft's  problem is delivery ;  others will argue its  execution.
Whats your take on this software giant?   Xbox Live, Bing?
Last year, Microsoft released a beta preview for its latest OS, Windows 8, which left many in awe with its sleek interface and multi-platform support. Boasting a number of sweet new upgrades, not only is it an essential for all PC users, it could also serve as Android and Apple’s biggest threat once unleashed on the tablet market. Thanks to complextech for the info.

The new Windows is now available with the public launch on October 25th, 2012.

FREEZE and KAYLAH!!

THE ROAD SHOW or as I call it- ''Rush Hour Relaxer'' is hosted by the amazing  FREEZE and the sexy KAYLAH on COOL FM-96.9 in NIgeria from 3pm-8pm.

I always get stuck in Rush hour traffic and this duo keep me laughing and talking with my colleague in the car so much that i dont even feel the stress of moving bumper to bumper. most times i'm like -freeeze can yab sha! And my friend will be like -no, freeze did ojoro for that last caller while playing UNDER PRESSURE (love this game).

At times, we talk about how sexy and fun Kaylah's laugh is, especially when Freeze yabs THE VOICE or when           FEMI $ THE GANG come in for the FOOTBALL FAN SHOW. Between FEMI's voice and THE VOICE's ...sigh!.. Lol!.

We all can attest or confirm that for one or two gists or topics addressed at a point by this fun duo, we have had to think about, call in or talk about it with friends, during Rush hour,in our homes or offices.

Note to self- the day i get to meet KAYLAH, i'll take one of her fashion items!.
I remember the day i saw and hugged FREEZE..wow! And the way he says on radio- Who's your DADDY?!!!!!

Thanks to bellanaija.com and coolfm.us for the pictures.
